How Dunkin iced coffee is made
Dunkin brews its Original Blend at double strength, chills it, and pours it over ice. That is why it does not taste watered down the way iced coffee made from leftover hot coffee does. The base drink is just coffee and ice. Everything else, cream, milk, sugar, swirls and shots, is added at the counter and you control all of it.
The default order at most stores comes with cream and sugar unless you say otherwise. If you want it black, say “black” when you order or set it in the app.
Flavor swirls and shots
Dunkin has two kinds of flavor. Swirls are sweet, creamy syrups. Shots are unsweetened flavor extracts. The difference matters for both taste and calories.

Sizes
Dunkin iced coffee comes in small (16 oz), medium (24 oz) and large (32 oz). The jump from small to medium is about 70 cents for 8 more ounces, which makes medium the best value. The large adds another 8 ounces for around 30 cents more, so if you drink a lot, large is even cheaper per ounce.
Ways to pay less
- Rewards members earn 10 points per dollar. A free medium drink costs 500 points, so roughly every 14th iced coffee is free.
- The $6 Meal Deal includes a medium iced coffee, a Bacon, Egg & Cheese and hash browns. Bought separately those are about $9.
- Skip the cold foam. Sweet cold foam adds about 70 cents and 75 calories. A splash of cream does the same job.
- Light ice. Dunkin does not do free refills, but ordering a large with light ice gives you noticeably more coffee.
Iced coffee vs cold brew
Cold Brew costs about 40 to 50 cents more per size. It is steeped for 12 hours instead of brewed hot, which gives a smoother, less acidic cup. If you drink your coffee black, cold brew is worth the extra. If you load it with cream and swirl, regular iced coffee tastes almost the same for less.
